labor + delivery movement practice

There is so much planning that can go into preparing to welcome a baby into the world. And women fall somewhere on the spectrum of checking off all the to do’s, to just going with the flow of things and patiently waiting for this soul to arrive. And no matter where you land, I have found that teaching women some movements that support them in the preparation of labor and delivery, is always beneficial. Even if you have a cesarean, planned or not, these practices will be helpful in the transition that is about to take place for both you and baby.

The main goals of this practice:

  • Connect with lengthening the pelvic floor through breath

  • Create space within and around the pelvis

  • Release tightness around the pelvis

  • Create muscle memory for labor and delivery

I suggest following these practices starting around 35-36 weeks. They should all feel good, comfortable and pain free. And always check with your doctor first.
